In the late 90’s a friend put together a weekend for a small group of us to get together and scrapbook for a weekend on Fenwick Island. It was a great small weekend getaway (with a lot of GRIT! <– inside joke!) for a couple of friends to sit around in their jammies with a glass of wine, no make up and scrapbook.
We said for years that we should do it again, but life just got in the way!
That same friend in 2004 suggested that we do it in the upcoming winter season, so a small get together with 10 other friends was put together. Before the day arrived we’d grown to 30 people and it moved to Hagerstown before it even began! The following year we grew to 50 and moved to Ocean City at the Dunes, the following year to 80, the following year to 105, the following to 140… you get the picture!
We have grown from a small count of good friends to a large count of great friends but have still maintained the feeling of the small original group. It’s like a family reunion each January! We love seeing how our lives have progressed, the new scrapbookers who have entered the game and the new worlds that paper crafting has created!
Each year we add new vendors to show the latest and greatest, that starts with your mailed welcome packet. We have shopped the country far and wide (literally) and are bringing you tips and tools and interesting crafting from all over the US! Pinterest has inspired us all!
We are so grateful for the loyal followers who have continued to support us year after year. We strive to offer something fresh and new for you each year, while keeping the heart of Winterfest the same, and we hope to continue to offer this to you for many years to come!
